We were approached by Into The Elements Ltd to offer advice on how Pay-per-click advertising could work for a new business venture, and what the most effective would be for them to implement it. As well as the pay-per-click site, Into The Elements also planned a series of further websites to be released though 2010, but lacked the technical and web business experience of how best to implement the sites.
ClystNet set up a number of meetings with the Directors of Elements Together Ltd to fully understand the nature of their business and what they want to achieve both from the individual websites, but also from the business as a whole. It soon became clear that their needs for a pay per click advertising system were best served by a dedicated website, allowing advertisers to place adverts on a whole range of 'client' sites rather than being restricted to just a single site. As such, the site had to cope with both advertisers and people with websites that wished to carry adverts (publishers.
The site itself would need a logo, a theme and a simple to follow layout. It would need optimising for Google (SEO) and would also require the ability to take money (be eCommerce optimised). Into The Elements decided to call the site Elements Together and wanted editorial control over much of the content. It was clear that the site would also need to be a CMS solution.
The design and build of the site took around 3 weeks, with much of the effort going in to making a robust advertising server system. A further period of effort went in to SEO optimising the content, and adding additional pages.
Training took approximately half a day, and support has been provided since go live. The site is now successfully serving adverts to publishers and accepting new adverts from advertisers. The payment system works without issue and the feedback from Into The Elements has been very positive.
